There seems to be value for some people to provide an audio file on a site. Even though the alternative option of uploading videos to YouTube and embedding those on the site is viable and relatively easy to achieve there is also good value in some cases about running the audio from the site, rather than from a service.
You may be a band selling music, and you want to provide samples to play on the web.
Perhaps a church with audio recordings of sermons being placed on the web for people to listen to in their own time.
Perhaps you want to provide audio of people who have trouble reading for whatever reason.
However it works there may be value in doing this.
Like all things on the web we do what is useful, helpful and meaningful, not simply because we can. However there is an option.
